OPEN HOUSE 4/28
The Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media (AFC) is located on the 7th floor of Bobst Library. Our collections consist of more than 32,000 videos (including U.S. and foreign cinema, drama and music performances, documentaries, art films, and more) and more than 82,000 audio recordings (including music from the broadest spectrum of classical, traditional, and popular artists, genres, and cultures). Our viewing and listening facilities support a variety of analog and digital formats.
You are cordially invited to an Open House in the new Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media on Friday, April 28, from 3pm to 6pm.
How can the new technology help you teach creatively, collaborate on projects, ace your assignments? Come see demonstrations in the media collaborative rooms and listening-viewing workstations and find out all the ways the new AFC can help you teach, learn, and research more effectively.
Enjoy cinematography clips from Tisch School of the Arts graduate film students and learn where student and faculty moving image and music/sound art projects can be featured in the AFC.
Join us for a unique listening experience: live, surround-sound music in the AFC’s Immersion Room from composers Elizabeth Hoffman, Louis Karchin, Robert Rowe, Tae Hong Park, Ezequiel Viñao, Yoon Ji Lee, Joel Rust, Paula Matthusen, Adam Mirza, Leo Chang, and Oliver Hickman. Sets will begin at approximately 3:15, 4:15, and 5:15.
We look forward to seeing you on the 28th in the new Avery Fisher Center on the 7th floor of Bobst Library.
