Bobst Library provides a variety of study spaces spread throughout 12 floors: 

 

All spaces in Bobst are quiet zones and intended to be conducive to study. Exceptions noted below.

Restrooms are located in the North wing of all floors except the main floor.

RESEARCH COMMONS OPEN STUDY

5th floor, south wing

Large open area with movable tables perfect for group work

Conversation-friendly

A more lively atmosphere

Research Commons Open Area - 5th floor

GROUP STUDY ROOMS

LL1 & LL2 and 9th floors

Small (3-6 people) and medium (7-12) rooms

Feature whiteboards and monitors/screens

Can be reserved for up to 2 hours per day

Individual Study Spaces

INTRA-STACKS & CONTEMPLATIVE SEATING

4th -9th floors
around inner perimeter of balconies overlooking atrium and outer window perimeter

4th, 5th, 6th & 9th floors - east & west wing center corridors

This is the largest category of seating in Bobst.

Individual study carrels and tables are interspersed with the book stacks.

Bigger spaces for individual study are on floors 4 & 5 (some with partitions, shelves, etc.)

Mixed height seating and some shared tables on other floors

Atmosphere conducive to quiet study

Outer perimeter and center corridors feature natural light

24 HOUR STUDY SPACES

LL1 and LL2

 

The Brine Library Commons on LL1 and LL2 is open 24 hours throughout the academic year.

Large open area with individual carrels and table seating

A mix of individual carrels, tables, and lounge seating on these floors

Research workstations are available in some carrels on both floors (Mac and PC).


Atmosphere conducive to quiet study

From 1 am - 7am, access restricted to NYU and Consortium degree program students, faculty and staff only with a valid NYU or Consortium photo identification
