NYU has collected several data tools and sets from Catalist a provider of information on individuals who are registered to vote in the United States. The Catalist national database includes more than 240 million unique voting-age individuals and contains data for over 200 variables that range from political party affiliation to religious preference. NYU's collection includes access to two data export tools, the Q Tool and the M Tool, and the raw data files of a one percent random sample of individual voters in the United States in each year.
Each of the Catalist data tools and products, including the raw data file for a random one percent sample is available to anyone in the NYU community who wants to use it for the purposes of academic research. This guide is intended to help you access, download, and understand the data. Request the data
