About Compagnie Käfig

Mourad Merzouki

Compagnie Käfig is a hip-hop dance troupe by Mourad Merzouki at the National Choreographic Center in Créteil et Val-de-Marne outside Paris. Born in Lyon in 1973, Merzouki, a lover of martial arts and circus arts was introduced to hip-hop culture and dance at the age of 15. Since 1996, the choreographer has created 27 shows performed worldwide, always working at the junction of many different artistic disciplines. Without losing sight of hip-hop movement’s roots, this multidisciplinary approach reveals complete new outlooks.
