This guide presents some of the more significant resources for the study of the literatures of the Iberian Peninsula and Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking Latin America. Full text is available for some articles. The MLAIB covers items published from around 1920 to the present.

PRISMA: Publicaciones y Revistas Sociales y Humanísticas (with HAPI index) provides access to full-text scholarly journals in the social sciences and humanities for the study of Latin America and the Caribbean. Content is in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. Publications in this database that are indexed in UCLA's Hispanic American Periodicals Index can also be searched by subject. (Journals or articles in PRISMA not indexed in HAPI cannot be searched in this way.)

It covers monographs, journal articles, critical editions, book reviews, bibliographies, and conference proceedings.

Dialnet indexes scholarship primarily from the Hispanic world in the form of articles, dissertations, book reviews, and conference proceedings, with a primary emphasis on the humanities, social sciences, and law, as well as publications in the pure and applied sciences. Digitalia Hispánica provides full-text access to research in the humanities, fine arts, social sciences, STEM fields, and law from Spanish and Latin American publishers. Coverage includes monographs (eBooks), periodicals, and conference proceedings, as well as a collection of literary texts written originally in Spanish and Spanish translations of literature in other languages.

Caribbean Literature is a searchable collection primarily of poetry and fiction, with a selection of non-fiction works, produced in the Caribbean islands or by authors from that region during the 19th and 20th centuries. It includes numerous hard-to-find works in English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and regional creoles, as well as a set of reference works for Caribbean creole languages.

Cambridge Companions are lively, accessible introductions to major writers, artists, philosophers, topics and periods. All are collections of specially commissioned essays, shaped and introduced to appeal to student readers. WorldCat - FirstSearch (OCLC): This interface, less user-friendly than the free version of WorldCat, allows for more complex searches and offers more precise indications of the holdings of other libraries.
