Using the Archive @NYU

For members of the NYU community testimonies from the Visual History Archive (VHA) are now streaming; you do not have to be onsite to access testimonies. Please note, before accessing the VHA, logon to NYUHome in order to be authenticated as having access to content licensed by NYU Libraries.

Users not affiliated with NYU may use the VHA onsite at Bobst Library. Email lib-vha@nyu.edu to schedule an appointment.

Before using the Archive, a one-time registration is required for all users. See Terms of Use. You may register online at any time at: http://vhaonline.usc.edu/login

System requirements are as follows:

  • Windows 7/8 +

  • Internet Explorer 9 +

  • Firefox 25 +

  • Google Chrome 12+

 

Accessing VHA during COVID-19

 

For members of the NYU community, all testimonies from the Visual History Archive (VHA) are available online. 
 
Users who are not currently affiliated with NYU should have access to some testimonies that are available through the public-facing VHA Online website. Unfortunately, it's not possible for us to make all testimonies available for remote access to members of the public. 
 
The USC Shoah Foundation, which owns the rights and permissions for the archive, provides copies to interviewees and family members. Users who are not affiliated with NYU may contact the Foundation directly to ask if that service is currently available: http://vhaonline.usc.edu/contact
