Quantitative Data Analysis

Data Services provides support for current members of the NYU community using a variety of quantitative analysis software packages. Our role is to facilitate your quantitative analysis within the realm of our supported software packages.

Geographic Informations Systems

GIS support includes teaching, learning, and research with geospatial technology (e.g. maps). The GIS services provided include the access to the Spatial Data Repository, assistance with locating secondary spatial data, training on GIS software, and consultation on incorporating geospatial analysis into your research or assignment.

Qualitative Data Analysis

Data Services provides support for members of the NYU community using a variety of qualitative data analysis (QDA) software packages. Our role is to facilitate your qualitative analysis within the realm of our supported software packages.

Survey Design

Data Services supports survey design via Qualtrics: a tool for creating and analyzing web-based surveys for research, teaching, and administrative needs.

Data Management Planning

Data Services can help you with implementing best practices in research data management in their research groups and labs, as well as patrons writing data management plans as a part of grant applications. 

Finding Data

Data Services can assist you in finding data and statistics, within and beyond the NYU Libraries collections, and across many disciplines and data types (e.g. spatial, numeric, textual).

Data Services lab hosts 26 workstations with 16GB of memory running Windows and the following list of software [LINK]. All are available on a first-come first-serve basis whenever library stacks are open [LINK], except 4 machines that require reservations during staffed hours listed below. Reservations are listed in orange. Please be prepared to show ID.
