This research guide is intended to offer students and faculty who are interested in the subjects of costume and fashion studies an introduction to sources available at NYU Libraries. The guide is loosely organized by themes relating to the study of fashion and costume. These resources are dynamic and interdisciplinary, and the organization of the guide should be seen as a suggestion for how to use the resources rather than strict guidelines.
If you have any questions or need further research help, please email Giana Ricci, Librarian for the Fine Arts, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This video from 2018 gives a behind the scenes look at the work being done by the conservation department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.
To search for new books, enter the search terms "fashion" or "costume" in Bobcat and then select sort by date-newest on the left-hand side.
