Directions for Access

1. Go to the NRC Home Page

2. Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click

3. You will be prompted to enter an email address 

***Make sure you use an email address you can access from your mobile device!***

4. You will be sent a list of instructions to download the app and an authentication link. This link must be opened from the mobile device where the app is installed!

Nursing Reference Center Plus™ is a comprehensive reference tool designed to provide relevant clinical resources to nurses, directly at the point-of-care. This free app is available for staff nurses, nurse administrators, nursing students, and nurse faculty and hospital librarians with an institutional subscription to NRC Plus. It offers the best available and most recent clinical evidence from thousands of full-text documents.



UpToDate offers electronic, full-text clinical resource that provides evidence-based answers to the most commonly asked questions in clinical practice. Original material in UpToDate is written by an international faculty of practicing clinicians who are experts in their specialties. Includes access to over 9,500 topics in 21 specialties, along with different levels of patient education materials to meet the varying information needs of patients.

2. Register to create a personal account

3. Download the free UpToDate app in your device's app store.

4. Sign in with the username and password you created in Step 1.


**Note: To maintain your access to UpToDate you will need to confirm your affiliation with NYU Hospitals Center and NYU School of M every 90 days. To do this simply login to UpToDate here.




Micromedex offers several useful apps for Drug Reference, IV Compatibility and Drug Interactions

Drug Reference

Free Micromedex Drug Reference provides clinical care professionals with on-the-go access to the industry’s most trusted drug information, when and where it’s needed most. 

This app contains concise information on 4500+ search terms, covering common needs such as:

• Adult and pediatric dosage
• Adverse effects (separated into “common” and “serious”)
• Drug interactions

IV Compatability

When multiple IV medications are combined, the risk of complication is very real. Efficacy of one or more drugs can be reduced or a potentially dangerous incompatibility can occur. With this app you will have access to the largest, most comprehensive IV compatibility resource.

Drug Interactions

With Drug Interactions, clinicians can check a patient’s entire medication list simultaneously for potentially harmful interactions and view severity ratings that range from contraindicated to minor.

This app provides insight into: 
•Why the drugs in question interact 
•How the results of those interactions will present in the patient 
•Recommendations for monitoring patient outcomes.

1. Enter Micromedex by going to this website and selecting Micromedex in the upper right corner

2. In the RESOURCES section found on the right, select "Download Mobile Apps"

3.  Follow the instructions and prompts found there.




Pediatrics Essentials

​Pediatrics Essentials is a reliable resource for on-the-go access to evidence-based drug information to efficiently and safely manage drug therapy for pediatric patients. It allows clinicians to make accurate and more informed treatment decisions at the point of care, while minimizing errors in this vulnerable patient population. This pediatric-specific app has clinical value for doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. An internet connection is not required, allowing you to make decisions with confidence at anytime, from anywhere.

2. From the tool bar near the top of the page, select

3. In the upper right corner of the new page, select "Mobile"

4. The mobile page will contain directions for downloading and authenticating the NeoFax Essentials and Pediatrics Essentials apps


NeoFax Essentials

by Micromedex

uCentral offers access to a number of useful clinical resources, including, Johns Hopkins ABX, Diabetes, HIV and Psychiatry Guides.

2. Click on the "Mobile" link to Register for a uCentral account 

3. Once you have registered, you will be able to download the app from your device's app store

4. Sign into the app with your uCentral account credentials



Lexicomp is a point-of-care tool offering information regarding drugs, diseases, toxicology, diagnostic tests, and patient information.

1. Create a LexiComp account here

  • Make sure you use your NYU email address to create the account

2. Login to your account

3. Add your subscription authorization code to your account (found here)

4. Download the app onto your device and sign in with your LexiComp account to activate it

2. Select    from the tool bar in the upper right to create a CE ID# 

3. Download the NMCD App from your device's app store

4. Use your CE ID# and NO PASSWORD to login to the app
