Interlibrary Loan (aka Document Delivery)

When you can't find what you need in NYU Libraries, simply fill out the Interlibrary Loan online request form.

Before your make a request:

  • Did you thoroughly search BobCat? Remember, you can have items delivered to Dibner Library from Bobst Library.
  • Did you check E-ZBorrow? Search 50 academic libraries at once and have books delivered to Dibner Library within 3-5 days.

Retrieving Materials

Requests for journal articles generally take one to three days to fill, but may take up to two weeks. Books may take three weeks to arrive. You will be notified by e-mail when your request has arrived.  If the item is available electronically, it will be emailed to you.

Returning Items

Items are generally loaned for four weeks. The loan period is set by the lending institution. Though, we cannot extend the loan period, we can ask for a renewal on your behalf.  Renewals must be requested before the due date and are subject to approval. Photocopies are yours to keep.
