In response to student requests and to support the needs of practicing faith communities, a Multifaith Prayer Space is being piloted on Lower Level 2 of Bobst Library. Developed in collaboration by the Center for Global Spiritual Life, Student Government Assembly, and the Division of Libraries, this first iteration provides a dedicated space for prayer, contemplation, and reflection. The space is partitioned to provide accommodation for those of Islamic faith during Ramadan and for the quiet reflective practices of other faiths and spiritual communities.
The prayer space can be accessed 24 hours, 7 days a week (excluding building closures).
Chairs and shelving are available for footwear removal in designated areas.
Food and drink are not permitted (please visit the Snack Lounge on Lower Level 1).
Please do not leave personal items unattended.
Please note: All workstations and study seats that were previously in this space have been relocated to the expanded seating area in the Bobst Gallery on the first floor.
We welcome your feedback on the Bobst Library Multifaith Prayer Space at this form. Please contact libraryengagement@nyu.edu if you have any questions about this space.
