Materials from NYU Special Collections' Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives On View in Kimmel Windows

A new exhibition, Fighting Fascism: Visual Culture of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939)  will be on view from March 3 – September 15, 2023 in NYU’s Kimmel Windows, a 13-window exhibition space located along LaGuardia Place and West 3rd Street in New York City's Greenwich Village.

Fighting Fascism showcases materials from NYU Special Collections (Tammiment-Wagner Collections) Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives (ALBA) which preserves the histories of the U.S. volunteers who fought alongside the Spanish Republic against the fascist coalition led by General Francisco Franco in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and those who provided humanitarian assistance with the Medical Bureau.
