The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) welcomes New York University (NYU) Libraries, as they become the Coalition’s newest Associate Members!
As a comprehensive academic library system, NYU Libraries serves one of the largest private universities in the United States, providing extensive resources, services, and an expansive collection to support the specific research needs of the university's diverse academic community. NYU Libraries maintains a robust digital preservation program to ensure long-term, equitable access to digital collections that are essential for cultural, historical, and research purposes.
NYU’s Digital Preservation Librarian Margo Padilla states: “We are thrilled to be joining the DPC as it expands its presence in the Americas, and to be joining with experts and practitioners around the world as we meet the challenges of digital preservation.”
About the Digital Preservation Coalition
DPC enables members to deliver resilient, sustainable and useful long-term access to digital content and services, helping them to access and use digital materials beyond the limits of technical obsolescence, media degradation and organizational change. They raise awareness of the strategic, cultural and technological challenges members face and encourage collaboration for mutual benefit and the greater good. DPC sustains and delivers these aims through advocacy, community engagement, workforce development, good practice and good governance. These actions create, empower, structure and extend a global community, working together for a sustainable digital legacy.
