Q: Why does Capital IQ prompt me to enter a username and password after I pass DUO push?

A: You should be directed to the landing page directly. If you are prompted to another login page asking for a username and password, change your browser settings to allow third-party cookies or specifically enable https://secure.signin.spglobal.com. Find more information about how to change the setting, Chrome, Safari. If the issue persists, please contact support.ciq@spglobal.com 

Q: Can I use the Capital IQ Excel API on a Mac?

A: No, the Capital IQ Excel API can only be used on Windows. Supported operating systems include Windows 8 (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows 10 (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows 11 (64-bit), and Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit). Q: What should I do if I see a 404 error when I log in to Capital IQ in Excel?

A: Try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Open Chrome and click on the three-dotted vertical icon in the top right corner. Go to "Settings," and in the left menu, click "Privacy and security."
  2. Click on "Third-party cookies." Scroll down and click "See all site data and permissions." In the search box, type "capitaliq" and click the "clear all data" button. Repeat this process by typing "spglobal" and clicking "clear all data."
  3. Close all Capital IQ windows and try logging again.
