H-Oralhist is a network for scholars and professionals active in studies related to oral history. It is affiliated with the Oral History Association.

A fabulous source of news on history from the Center for History and New Media. Hard to encapsulate in few words this is the source for a historian's perspectives on events in historical context.

The NCPH constitutes the major professional association that engages most public historians. The web site contains a wealth of information concerning job opportunities, professional conferences and workshops, publications and other resources.

The National Register of Historic Places is the official list of the Nation's historic places worthy of preservation. Authorized by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places is part of a national program to coordinate and support public and private efforts to identify, evaluate, and protect America's historic and archeological resources.

The Center for History and New Media at George Mason University, founded by the late Roy Rosenzweig, constitutes the principal source of information for historians interested in digital projects and also operates the History News Network.

The Society of American Archivists, which broke away from the American Historical Association in 1936, serves as the principal North American organization for the archival profession.
