This set is a printed selective compilation by topic of the some of the 7,000 volumes of papers produced by parliament in the nineteenth century. The set is broken into volumes by either geographical area or the subject of the parliamentary paper. The area studies are countries or regions not colonized by Great Britain: China, Japan, Russia, Central and South America, and the United States of America, which won its independence before 1800. (Bobst does not have the volumes on Latin America and only a volume 7 was published for Russia). Accompanying the set are several finding aids which serve different purposes. There is a complete listing in the Checklist of British Parliamentary Papers in the Irish University Press 1000-Volume Series 1810-1899, a more detailed Catalogue of British Parliamentary Papers in the Irish University Press 1000-Volume Series 1810-1900 (which expands the information in the checklist), and The Irish University Press Series of British Parliamentary Papers. The subject volumes also sometimes have their own indexes.
