Caribbean Visual Culture

The Montgomery Collection of Caribbean Photographs, with over 3,500 images, is one of the largest collections outside the Caribbean, focusing on the region from 1840-1940 with portraits, landscapes, and tourist views. It includes prints, postcards, daguerreotypes, lantern slides, and albums stereographs. It is now held at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 

The Hereward Postcard Collection was assembled by Mr. H. H. Cousins, Jamaica's Director of Agriculture from 1908 to 1932. It includes 212 postcards—mostly photos, with some paintings and sketches—offering a rare glimpse into early 20th-century Jamaica and its multicultural society, emphasizing African and East Indian traditions. The collection was donated to the Library by his family in 1982.

The Edith A. Graham Collection of Haitian Art was donated to Trinity College by her family. Graham's appreciation for Haitian art and her dedication to supporting Haitian artists lasted nearly 40 years. The collection features over 300 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, objects, and a beaded sequin flag.
