Mission statement

Resource Management supports the NYU community by procuring and helping to provide access to all types of materials for our libraries' collections.

Resource Management's core responsibilities include:

  • ordering and paying for library materials
  • processing new physical materials
  • establishing access and providing frontline troubleshooting for electronic resources
  • helping to provide description for e-books and e-journals

We provide a well-balanced set of high-quality services for our users.

We value the efforts of our colleagues in pursuit of common goals and work productively with partners from across NYU Libraries and other organizations

We maintain high standards for accuracy and completeness in our work, and think creatively to improve workflows and solve problems.

We support our co-workers by letting them work in ways that facilitate high-quality output.  We build others' trust by keeping library materials and payments moving and by meeting project goals.

We provide clear and timely communication within RM, to colleagues in other departments, and to external contacts.
