Maps in the Catalog

A simple way to find maps in the library is to use the Catalog Search to find maps with a keyword.

Begin from the NYU Shanghai Library website. Enter a keyword in the main Catalog Search box. A useful keyword for finding maps might be the a location. Then click on the magnifying glass to search.

We can use the Filters on the left side of the search results page to limit our results to maps.

Look for the list of Resource Types on the left side. Scroll down the list to find the Maps option. You might need to click on "Show More". Click on the selection box on the left side of Maps, and then click on Apply Filters.

The apply filters button activates the resource type limit.

Maps might be online documents, physical atlases within the library, or online atlases. If you have trouble accessing a specific item please contact the library for help.

Databases with Maps

These databases may be useful places to browse or search for maps. Library databases all work a little bit differently, and can be a bit more difficult to use than the Catalog Search, so these options might be more challenging. If you need help using these databases you can ask for help in the library.
