In response to student requests and to support the needs of practicing faith communities, two Multifaith Prayer Spaces have been opened in Bobst Library on Lower Level 2 in room LL2-19 and LL2-20. Originally piloted in March 2023 as a single space, this new iteration provides two dedicated spaces for prayer, contemplation, and reflection. Developed in collaboration by the Center for Global Spiritual Life, Student Government Assembly, and the Division of Libraries, the spaces are designed to provide accommodation for those of Islamic faith during Ramadan and for the quiet reflective practices of other faiths and spiritual communities.

  • The prayer spaces can be accessed 24 hours, 7 days a week (excluding building closures).

  • Chairs and shelving are available for footwear removal in designated areas.

  • Food and drink are not permitted (please visit the Snack Lounge on Lower Level 1).

  • Please do not leave personal items unattended.

We welcome your feedback on the Bobst Library Multifaith Prayer Spaces at this form. Please contact libraryengagement@nyu.edu if you have any questions about this space.
