by NYU Libraries Communications on 2021-09-08T17:00:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

Music industry executives Sylvia Robinson and Sylvia Rhone changed the sound and business of music forever with a collective impact spanning 60 years. Drawing from the Avery Fisher Center’s vast collection of LPs and discs, the exhibit features albums by The Sugar Hill Gang, Missy Elliot, MC Lyte, Grandmaster Flash, the Furious Five, and others whose storied careers Robinson and Rhone helped to launch. You know the music. Stop by the AFC to learn more about the extraordinary women behind it.  Now through September, in the Avery Fisher Center on the 7th floor of Bobst Library.  Curated by Amanda Belantara and Nickeisha Pencil.
