Poetry Open Mic 

Location: 2nd Floor North Reading Room, Bobst Library

Time: April 18th, 5-7 PM 

Description: Calling all poets & poetry lovers! Come and celebrate National Poetry Month with a Poetry Open Mic night! Refreshments will be provided.

This event will take place in the 2nd Floor North Reading Room at Bobst Library on April 18th from 5-7pm

  • Readers will have a 2 minute allotment to share any kind of poetry (all languages are welcome)
  • Sign-ups for reading slots will be first come first serve and will take place on-site at the event until all slots are filled
  • Please note that while you are welcome to share your own work, you can also share the work of other poets that you love
  • Please follow NYU's Guidance and Expectations on Student Conduct when reading at the event
  • You do not have to be a reader to attend the event -- feel free to come and enjoy!

This workshop will help you approach our vast catalog with a sense of wonderment and exploration, utilizing playful browsing methods that can help get you out of a rut, inspire you, feed your artistic needs, and invite radical joy into your library experience.

In this workshop, you will learn: 

- Creative searching methods
- How to find leisure reading materials
- How to nurture a healthy relationship with the library

Description: Join NYU Libraries for a fun and crafty Zine making workshop as we celebrate Poetry Month.  Zines (pronounced “zeens”) are small, self-made, publications that can be about anything.  All materials will be provided and suggestions for how to be inspired to make a poetry themed zine will be shared.  No experience with zines necessary! Light refreshments will be available.
