The following resources provide access to industry trends and analysis.
Staying informed of current news is important as it keeps you informed of the threats and opportunities the industry is facing. News and article databases and trade associations are excellent resources for the most current information.
A trade association, also known as an industry trade group, is an organization founded and funded by businesses that operate in a specific industry (Wikipedia). A Google search using your industry name and the word association will generate a list. e.g. searching "marketing associations" yields many including the American Marketing Association.
Factiva is a resource for U.S. and international newspapers (html full text only, no images or print layout versions), news transcripts, trade journals, newsletters, industry snapshots, and market data charts for recent stock prices. Coverage dates vary from title to title, but primarily span the late 20th century to present.
