Where to Build a List

The resources below allow you to build lists of companies based on the data points that are most important to you. Results can be exported into Excel for further analysis and manipulation.

Data on public and private companies, financial statements, M&A/deals, PE/VC, LBOs, and executives and boards worldwide. Use the screening and charting features to create lists of firms for tasks such as investment analysis coursework or your job search.
Important: All third-party cookies must be enabled in the web browser setting while accessing Capital IQ. Using an incognito or private window is highly recommended.

Individual account creation required before you can login. Account requests require a mandatory 7-10 business day processing period. Users with existing accounts may log into the web interface here. LSEG Workspace provides access to fundamental financial data on public companies, merger and acquisitions, financial market data and quotes, analyst reports, and private equity and venture capital. It features powerful screening and charting capabilities. This product was formerly known as Thomson ONE, Eikon, and Refinitiv Workspace.
Each user is permitted to view and/or download up to 150 pages of analyst report content ("AMR") per 24 hour period. Faculty may request expanded AMR access - pending availability - by emailing the Business Library team using our form.

Users may log in via the LSEG web platform, or optionally via LSEG's Mac and PC software.

Startups:

Under "Advanced Search" click "Company Search". Edit your filters, them click the "See results" button.
Requires creation of a CB Insights account with an active NYU email. If your credentials have expired or you receive a trial account error, contact info@cbinsights.com.

Not all "Research" reports fall under NYU's subscription. Locked "Expert Intelligence" reports are not sold to academic clients.

Individual accounts may only download up to 6,000 rows of data per year. Faculty accounts with expanded downloading capabilities may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Email the Business Library team using our form for more information.

Users must create an individual account using an NYU email address at the above link. Accounts reset annually on August 1st and users must re-register. Users must always use NYU Libraries' link to log in.

Downloading/printing is limited to 10 daily and 25 monthly rows of data. Screen capturing is prohibited. (The Business Library offers expanded downloading accounts to NYU faculty and PhDs on a first-come, first-served basis. To access the premium section of Guidestar, you must register and create an account. Once registered, NYU users are permitted to download 1000 records per month.
