It indexes scholarly journals, dissertations and theses, books, and conference papers and proceedings, and is international in scope.

The International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS) covers a broad range of interdisciplinary social sciences literature in over 100 languages and countries, with a focus on international research.
