FAQs

Q: What resources are available to help me build my team?

A: NYU hosts a "Teammate Hunt" at Stern early every fall and has additional networking opportunities at the Leslie eLab. In addition to networking within NYU and the city, consider using CoFoundersLab, a platform designed to help build startup teams based on skills and expertise.

Q: I am stuck when it comes to creating my business model. Do you have any advice for what to do?

A: Consider reading the books on this page to better understand how to develop a business model. Attend the Leslie eLab's 2-part workshop, "Getting to Product Market Fit", for customized help developing your model. The library's resources can then be used to research other firms' business models, revenue sources, and marketing strategies.

Q: I'm not enrolled at or employed by NYU. Can I use NYU Libraries' resources if my co-founder is NYU-affiliated, but I am not?

A: Unfortunately, no. Your NYU teammate must take lead on all NYU library research. You may consider using New York Public Libraries' Business Center at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL) as a starting point.
