NYU has collected data from RealtyTrac covering information on many property sales that have taken place in the United States between January 1, 2005 and January, 2016. The data, drawn from information released in public tax records across the United States, is not available to the public. It includes information on property characteristics, location, ownership, and use. A smaller subset of the data indicates properties that have been foreclosed upon.
RealtyTrac data is available to anyone in the NYU community who wants to use it for the purposes of academic research. This guide is intended to help you access, download, and understand the data.
If you have any questions about accessing, downloading, or interpreting data from RealtyTrac, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. You can use our contact form. If you'd like to get in touch with people at RealtyTrac, use this contact form.
