NYU Manifold Tips & Resources

This guide provides an in-depth exploration of Manifold's features and walkthroughs for developing projects beyond initial creation. This is the second of two NYU Manifold LibGuides.

Common Points of Confusion & Manifold Glossary

Manifold can be used flexibly to handle a variety of media formats and publication needs. It is, in many ways, a creative choose-your-own-adventure style platform.

Because of Manifold’s extensive features and the expansive documentation for them, it can be hard to keep track of the terminology that Manifold uses compared to similar platforms. Questions arise like “What goes in a Project Collection versus a Reading Group?”, “Why am I listed as an Author on a Project, but I don’t have a Creator Account?” and “How do I edit a Text without editing the Project it’s in?”

This glossary provides a brief introduction to the key terms and components of Manifold to be referenced alongside the rest of this LibGuide and Manifold’s documentation.
