  • General book and journal collections from Bobst Library, Dibner Library, Brause Library, Offsite Collections
  • EZBorrow and Interlibrary Loan materials

Delivery Time

Depending on the materials requested, time of request, and demand levels, delivery times will vary from 2-3 days to up to one week.

For more information about library collections access, visit the Collections Access page.

Request & Pickup Process

Items available for locker pickup can be requested using links found in the library catalog. For EZBorrow and Interlibrary Loan requests, users selecting the Jack Brause Library as a pickup destination will have these items delivered to the lockers as well. Items will be checked out to your library account before we put them into a locker. All you need to do is pick them up.

  • When your items are ready, you will receive an email with instructions and a code for opening the locker
  • Please pick up your items within five days of receiving this email. Please contact library staff at midtown.library@nyu.edu if you are unable to pick your items up within this time frame.
  • Books that are not picked up will be removed from your library account and sent back to the stacks for others to request

Returning Books Using the Lockers

The lockers at the Jack Brause Library can be used to return materials when the library service desk is closed. Only active locker users can return materials to the lockers. Users are active if they have requested materials for locker pickup at any of our three locker pickup locations (Bobst Library, Dibner Library, and Jack Brause Library).

To return materials:

  • Using the iPad touchscreen at the lockers, select the BEGIN DROPOFF (or the SHIP A PACKAGE option)
  • Enter your NYU NetID email address when prompted
  • If prompted for a shipment tracking option, enter any string of numbers (e.g., 1234)
  • When the locker opens, place your library materials inside and close the locker door. Only library staff will be able to open the locker door once it is closed. Do not place personal items or non-library materials in the locker.
  • You will receive an email when the library staff has retrieved and check in your item. You can also review your library account to make sure all returned materials have been removed from your record.

If you are not an active locker user and would like to return materials to the lockers, please email midtown.library@nyu.edu and library staff will activate your account and notify you. Please note that response times may be delayed during evening and weekend hours.
