Qualitative Data Repository

NYU is a proud member of the Qualitative Data Repository (QDR) and through our membership, anyone currently at NYU can publish their qualitative (and mixed/multi-method!) research with the QDR.

The QDR is a dedicated archive for storing and sharing digital data (and accompanying documentation) generated or collected through qualitative and multi-method research hosted at Syracuse University. The QDR offers a range of guidance and resources to facilitate and encourage the storing and sharing of data, and to help scholars who engage in qualitative and multi-method research to effectively use archived qualitative data.

The QDR has a number of resources relevant for all stages of your research project that can help make your research more sustainable and ready for deposit:

Template language for consent forms and data management plans
Qualitative data management plan checklist
Tips for managing digital research files during your project (which helps you publish data down the road!)
General guidance on human subjects and publishing (including the different access controls possible in the QDR)
Teaching resources to integrate teach data management practices
FAQs with common questions answered
