Using NYUAD Library's Catalog

An overview of features in NYUAD Library's online catalog (search.abudhabi.library.nyu.edu).

Search Scopes

Begin your search using scopes (pre-filtered searches) from the library home page:

Search scope options are the following:

  • Search everything (all items available in NYU Libraries' catalog)
  • NYUAD resources (print and electronic resources available in Abu Dhabi)
  • Book & Ebooks (only books in electronic or print formats in any location)
  • Articles (only articles in electronic or print formats in any location)
  • NYUAD Special Collections (special collections in Abu Dhabi)

 

Refine Your Results

Filtering options are located on the left side under 'Refine Your Results':

Some useful filtering options include the following:

  • Filter category 'Show Only' allows users to filter broadly only to the location and type of resource. The options include:

    • Physical items held by the library (e.g., physical books, DVDs, scores, etc.)

    • Online-only items (e.g., e-books, articles)

    • Peer-reviewed journals and articles within such journals

    • Open access resources

  • Filter category 'Resource Type' includes options such as articles, conference proceedings, and book chapters to reflect the wide variety of electronic resources available in the catalog. 

  • Filter category 'Library Collection' allows users to narrow their search by collections within NYUAD Libraries (e.g., Special Collection, Leisure Collection).
