How to Search: Ways to Use WRDS

Web Queries

Using the web-based query form to extract and output data in .txt, .csv, .xlsx, .dat, .sav, .dta, and etc.

  1. Select Date Range

  2. Select Database Search Method, the options include:

    1. Manually entering identifiers

    2. Uploading a text file containing a list of identifiers

    3. The entire database

  3. Select Variables

  4. Select Output Format

To run web queries, make sure you have the following:

  • A modern web browser such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer (IE10 or greater).
  • Javascript, cookies, and pop-up windows enabled.

WRDS provides a high-performance computing cluster, the WRDS Cloud. WRDS Data is easily accessible in your favorite programming language from your computer or on the WRDS Cloud.
