Bloomberg Guide

Alumni and visitors are not eligible for access to NYU's Bloomberg terminals due to the terms of our institutional contract. No exceptions can be made. Thank you for your understanding. Please read below to learn about alternative paths to terminal access.

NYU alumni who are a New York Public Library (NYPL) member / card holder may visit the Yoseloff Business Center at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library (SNFL) branch to access Bloomberg.

• SNFL is situated at the southeast corner of 40th St and 5th Ave, diagonal to the main NYPL branch at Bryant Park. (This building was formerly known as the "Mid-Manhattan Library".)
• The Yoseloff Business Center is located on SNFL's 5th floor.

• Appointments may be required to gain access. Please call ahead to confirm.
• NYPL has strict policies that limit printing, downloading, or electronic reproduction of any Bloomberg content. Bring pen and paper or your own device to manually transcribe what you've learned from the terminal.
• Public library access may differ from academic (and corporate) levels of coverage.

The Yoseloff Business Center at SNFL is the successor to the former Science, Industry, and Business Library (SIBL), which was located at 188 Madison Ave. SIBL's Bloomberg terminals have been moved to SNFL. The SNFL branch is an ~7 minute walk from the former SIBL facility: from the former SIBL entrance, head north on Madison Ave and turn left (west) when you reach E39th St. Turn right on 5th, heading north until you reach the SNFL entrance at 455 5th Ave.

Some major metropolitan library systems, especially those with a business branch or department, subscribe to Bloomberg. Contact your local public library to ask if they have a terminal, or know of a terminal at a public library in your region. Most public libraries cannot afford Bloomberg: The cost of one Bloomberg terminal is ~$24,000 per year with a minimum two year subscription.
