Participate in ALA's Dear Banned Author Letter-Writing Campaign

"Dear Banned Author" campaign logo with a paper airplane in the foreground over the campaign's title.

Has an author you've admired or a book you read been banned?  Let the author know how much you enjoyed their work or support their writing.

During banned books week last year (September 26 - October 2, 2021), ALA coordinated a letter writing campaign which we can still participate in. Visit their website, linked below, for more information and tools for getting involved.  You can download a postcard, send a virtual letter, or post to social media.  There's a Google Sheet with author name, book(s) they've written, and an address to reach them at in order to send your note.

Buy books for a community at risk!

Join #Freadom Fighters

Freadom Fighters is a small group of Texas school librarians who came together to tell positive stories of libraries and books for our students.
