Data Services Class Descriptions

Information, materials, and schedules for all currently offered Data Services classes.
This course will introduce users to the use of Packrat, R Markdown, and integrating git with R to enable reproducible research workflows and meet the needs for documenting data.

Room description:

Some tutorials are held remotely and require NYU sign on to access, while others are held in person, without a remote component. Please note the correct modality and location of the tutorial when registering

Prerequisites:
  • Familiarity with RStudio, including how to install and load libraries
  • Comfort with writing and editing code in RStudio’s text editor
Skills Taught / Learning Outcomes:
  • Building standardized template-based approaches to organizing research data file directories
  • Understanding how to set and package versioned R libraries using Packrat to enable reproducible scripts and workflow
  • Documenting R workflows using R Markdown
  • Version control through integration of R and Git
