Student Sustainability Organizations
A list of current NYU sustainability organizations available for students to join, ranging from clubs to specific school run groups and global groups.
Environmental Law Society (NYU Law)
The Environmental Law Society is a student run organization at NYU Law aimed at pushing law students toward sustainability and eco-justice. This organization also hosts the Environmental Justice Reading Group which is an event that provides suggested readings, videos, sessions and audio materials. The left hand side of this page provides information on the group, events and how to join.
Minor in Native American Studies
The NYU College of Arts and Sciences offers a minor in Native American Studies. It is comprised of four five credit courses and a mandatory course for a total of 20 credits.
Native Studies Forum
The Native Studies Forum allows students, faculty, staff and the community to promote events and research relating to Indigenous people from a historical, political and cultural point of views.

The Cultural Conservancy aims to restore Native American culture, food and art.
Indigenous Environment Network
The Indigenous Environment Newtwork is a non-profit striving to build sustainable communities by protecting sacred sites and the environment
Indigenous Language Institute
The Indigenous Language Institute provides tools and resources to learn, preserve and expand indigenous languages.
National Indigenous Women's Resource Center
The NIWRC is a non-profit using culturally based approach to raise awareness on violence against women.
National Museum of the American Indian
The National museum of the American Indian has one of the largest collections of Native objects, art, artifacts, objects, photographs and media. Two locations are present: New York, NY and Washington, DC.
The Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance
The Native American Food Sovereignty Alliance is geared towards reviving cultural food practices. This organization includes programs such as the Seed keepers Network and the Native Food and Culinary Network program.
Native Hope
Native Hope is a non-profit organization that seeks to address the injustices done to Native Americans through community outreach, scholarships and assistance.
Old Growth Forest Network
The Old Growth Forest Network aims to preserve the remaining 6% of original forests as well as new growth forests.
Sierra Seeds
Sierra Seeds is geared towards fostering the relationship between people and mother earth.
United Plant Savers
United Plant Savers is a non-profit organizations geared towards preserving native plant species.
